Saturdays are my favorite.

I got to sleep in.
I don't have to go to work.
There's no agenda - I can do whatever I want.
I don't have to go to work tomorrow.
I can stay up late tonight.
I can take a nap in the middle of the day, for as long as I want.
If I don't want to shower and get dressed until 6 o'clock tonight, that's okay.

Saturdays are just the best.

Friday nights are pretty good, too.  Last night, my sister-cousin and her hubby and their pup came over to hang out - we had Penn Station for dinner and watched some scary show on Netflix.  And then a mean headache came over me and I had to go to bed.  But I slept straight through the night without a sleeping pill, and that's awesome.

This past week was pretty fantastic.  Work was crazy and busy and kept me on my toes, but even a couple of (major) mistakes on my part didn't ruin it - I brought my A-game and was able to repair any errors before they caused any real trouble.  I'm still swamped with things that have to get done but keep getting re-shuffled to the bottom of the pile; next week really will require that OT of which I spoke earlier this week.

So far today we've paid the mortgage, had Mexican for lunch, window-shopped our way through Lowe's, and visited Daddy at work.  There is a nap in my future, I'm sure, and tonight we're going to go out because Sweet Maggie is in town; karaoke, pizza, and friends - sounds like a win to me.

There are 416 blog entries in my Google Reader waiting for my attention.  How many blogs is too many to follow?  I may need an intervention.  I did that 7 Facts thing a while back, and most of the people I tagged were like "I don't know 15 blogs to tag" and I was all "You're kidding, right?  You don't follow over 250 blogs?"  Of course, not all of the 250 are updated regularly, but it's not unusual for my reader to rack up 95 or 110 entries a day for my perusal.  That's kind of a lot.  No wonder I've only read 3 books so far this year.

How do the families of people who get kidnapped come up with the ransom money?  Does the FBI step in and say "Here, we got this"?  Of course, I guess people who are broke aren't usually kidnapping targets.

I bought a few packs of sunflower seeds at the Lowe's.  Not the kind you eat, the kind you plant to grow sunflowers.  I'm super excited and can't wait to start growing stuff in my yard this year.  I guess I need to start reading up and figuring out how in the hell to do it; I know nothing about gardening other than it involves bugs and getting dirty.  I'm kinda hoping Momma will hold my hand and walk me through it; she gardened for years with Granny and has had her own crop of tomatoes and cucumbers and squash in the backyard for as long as I can remember.  Between her and the Internet, I should be able to grow a few somethings to can for the winter.

I need to deep-clean the entire house but I've not quite worked up the gumption.  It seems like a lot.  I need a plan for re-decorating and re-designing - that will get me moving.  I mean, you can't paint or anything until the space is clean, so it only makes sense that they should be done together.  I need paint and pictures on the walls in almost every room.  The furniture needs to be reconsidered and rearranged and (in some cases) replaced; the space needs to become more user-friendly and welcoming and not so much stuffedfullofshit.

Anyhow.  I'm gonna go catch up on everyone else's blog.  Have a great Saturday!

  1. Loved this post! I think I need a nap reading about all you've done so far this week-end!

Plant those Sunflower seeds when the time is right; hope you got the giant ones..so much fun to see them shoot up and take over! I plant them here in upstate NY but..the deer always manage to lob off the flower heads as soon as they grow a few feet. Hope you don't have that problem!

    Enjoy!
