I spent a lot of money.

Like, well over twice what I'd expected to spend.

I bought clothes.  Lots and lots of clothes.

4 pairs of jeans *
(*includes a pair of jeggings that I was unsure about - Jimi hates them, so I'm taking them back.)
2 pairs of leggings
1 pair of shoes
4 bras
2 hoodies
4 strappy tank tops with the bra-top
1 dress
8 short-sleeved tops

I needed new clothes; I really did.  I've been rotating the same two ill-fitting pairs of jeans for the last 3 years.  The only black dress pants I wear are the same ones I bought for the office Christmas party - the one that I went to in El Paso, TX in 2005.  The last time I shopped for new clothes and spent a significant amount of money was Fall 2006, after my divorce and when I needed a new wardrobe to go with my new life.

Plus, Kohl's was having a sale.  And I "saved" $338 and got $80 in Kohl's cash.  That makes spending more than a week's wages a little more okay, right?  I'm suffering from sticker shock.

Despite my need, despite my awesome deals, this still totally counts as retail therapy.  Can't have a baby?  That's cool - instead of spending all my money on diapers, I'll spend it on me.

  1. I love sales! Sounds like a fun day and well-deserved.

  2. I used to tell my husband about all the money I 'saved' while shopping until he started asking to physically see this saved money.

Fall of '06 since your last major wardrobe update??? I would say today was very much deserved!
