I'm just gonna lay down for a few minutes....

I went to take a nap at 6:30, asking Jimi to wake me up in about half an hour.  Maybe he tried, but I remember being grumpy with him when he curled up next to me at a quarter after eight and tried to get me awake by talking about making dog shampoo.  I didn't get out of bed; I rolled over and went back to sleep.  By 11:30, he was in bed next to me, snoring lightly, and I was wide awake and completely unable to force myself back to sleep.  So now here I am!

I've been reading the submissions at We Are the 99 Percent.  I hope this movement takes hold; that people start waking up and looking around and saying "wait a minute...".  Change is coming.

Out of curiosity, do you have health insurance?  Is it good coverage, and is it affordable?  Reading through those pages of heartbreaking tales, I was struck by how different our nation could be if all of our citizens had equal and affordable access to healthcare.  It seems to basic to me, but I'm one of the luckiest 99% - I've always had health insurance, and in my world, when you get sick, you go to the doctor and they fix you and you get better and then the insurance company pays the bill.  My world is a fantasy for so many Americans.

I don't want to get sucked into a spiral of how awful the world is tonight.  I don't want to go off on some political rant, either.

I never eat Cheez-Its, but Jimi brought home a box the other day, and they're sitting right here, and man o man, those little fellas are tasty, aren't they?  And I was certain that they were awful for you, and they probably are, but they're not as bad as say, a Pop Tart.  Or a Big Red.  I'd really like a Big Red right about now.  I wonder if we have any soda at all...?

Cherry Coke Zero goes well with Cheez-Its.  Cheez-Its really need the "s" at the end, don't you agree?

I've got a whole list of things I need to accomplish this weekend - of course, the list is in my head, so if I don't get anything at all completed, no one will know but me.  Things that really have to happen, though, include laundry and vacuuming.  My life is off the chain exciting, yo.

Flat Cherry Coke Zero is kinda yuck.

There's a fly buzzing around the room and it's starting to annoy the piss out of me.

I think I'm going to have to throw this drink out.  It is yuck.

Water's better for me anyhow.  And I didn't really want all that caffeine, it's after 1 a.m. already.

Holy smokes, I remember when 1 o'clock on a Friday night was just getting the party started.  I was in bed, asleep, before 10 p.m. 3 nights this past week.  My, how things change.

Lots of stress at work this week, and there's plenty more where that came from.  It's good, though - makes us stretch and expand our knowledge.  And snap at each other and cry over things that aren't that big a deal.  Okay, that last bit ain't so good, but it's temporary.  I think we all have the same fear - that we'll screw up - and we need to remember that and encourage each other, not point fingers and assign blame when things do go wrong.

I want to go for a walk, but it's 2:30 in the morning and that just doesn't seem like a good idea.  Plus, it's cold.  Okay, it's not that cold, but it's colder than my living room.  And I'm scared someone would kidnap me or rape me.

I'm still not tired enough to go back to sleep.  Guess I'll go read some more.

Blah blah blah, blahblahblah blah, blah blahblah.  Blah.

  1. I was awake about the same time. Pinterest got my mind crazy. All those TOYS, and the money I spent, the craziness of all the "stuff" my house was filled with. And boy those toys just didn't lay around, we played and threw and puked on them. Then I cleaned and tried to teach "this is how you put them up" with ME putting them all up. :-) Then the collections they had.... rocks, cars, scratch off tickets.... yes. One kid walked around collecting used scratch offs.! LOL Crazy thoughts come to us in the night. I wanted to walk, too. But I thought of the things hiding in the dark out there.... Now off to work and painting the porches. Enjoy your weekend gal! :-)

  2. If we lived closer, we could've met somewhere and walked together. Safety in numbers!

  3. I remember staying up all Friday and Saturday night only to crash on Sunday, sleeping till 4 or 5 that afternoon. But that was in my late teens and early twenties when I was able to. Now I go to bed no later than 10 usually. There are times though I have woke up around one or two in the morning wide awake and annoyed.
